Welcome

"New Day, New Way, Restore the Legacy"

"For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will forsake his inheritance."

Psalm 94:4

I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus, The Christ,

Welcome and thank you for participating in the 1st Lanier All Class Reunion.  As we come together this weekend, our purpose is to fellowship, reminisce and evaluate our contributions to Lanier High School and the Georgetown community as we strive to bring dignity, respect, community participation and a reputation of greatness back to Lanier.

As a result of the Tom Brokaw Documentary, our school and community has been defined to the world in a negative light. As we embark upon our 1st All Class Reunion, our objective is to re-define how Lanier and the community is presented to the world.

How do we redefine? We must re-direct our benevolence and give more to Lanier and the community... not just money, but also our time and our talents! Yes, we need money to support scholarships and programs, but what we need most is YOU!

Alumni, we need your time at Lanier to  assist with the Adopt A Class Program, tutoring students, attending school board meetings, City Council meetings and many other activities to ensure Lanier and the community are treated equally with other sectors in the city and schools in the district.  Utilizing your talents, we need grant writers, and volunteers to assist the National Alumni Association in generating new ideas to better our school and community.

I am indeed delighted to join you for this 1st Lanier All Class Reunion and encourage each of you to attend all of the activities planned. I hope you will enjoy the fellowship and memories of our "Lanier Dear" and leave with a renewed spirit to give and serve.

Sincerely,

Lee Bernard, Jr.

All Class Reunion President
